Poem by Mother Mary Francis, PCC

Concerning Affluence

I am the richest one in town
Although they may not know it
Who count their funds and lay aside
Good portions against winter.

I am the richest one on earth,
Unshod I walk to tell it.
All silvered stars are my small coins
For sudden need arising.

I am the richest in the world
Or in the heavens either,
Owning a greater need than all
For God to come and fill it.

(Mother Mary Francis, PCC)
